LIGHT + AIRY BABY BOY NURSERY IN MURFREESBORO, TN

July’s Monthly Nursery Spotlight features a nursery from a recent in-home newborn session in Murfreesboro, TN.  Sweet baby boy, Henry entered the world in April of this year. His light and airy nursery was carefully created with an outpouring of love from family members!

They wanted a space that could easily transition from a baby boy nursery to a big boy room. In order to achieve this result they chose pieces that would grow with him.  The pieces chosen allow for easy updates to the overall theme. This will enable them to tailor the room to his interests as he grows!  Currently they have a sweet  “little lamb” theme running throughout the nursery.

Henry’s mom told me they selected the little lamb theme to remind them that even though Henry is little, it is never too early to encourage him in the faith. I absolutely love this and completely agree that it is never too early! Henry will certainly love the adorable addition of his cuddly lamb lovie and beautiful illustrations!

Henry’s Murfreesboro, TN light and airy nursery is a perfect marriage of classic and timeless decor inspired by Serena & Lily and Pottery Barn Kids. Henry’s cozy nursery was a labor of love. Numerous family members stepped in to help complete the space. They pulled everything together quickly as they moved into their new house just seven days before Henry’s arrival! This nursery is a beautiful reflection of the entire family’s love and excitement!

Henry’s mom answered a few questions about her son’s adorable timeless nursery. She told me that her sweet dad and brother worked hard to do the boards and batten walls. I painted the bottom of the walls and my husband painted the top. He hung the curtains and Roman shades, and moved all of the furniture while I styled the space.

“Teamwork makes the dream work! All in all, I think we spent about 6 days making this room ready for Henry’s arrival. It makes it so much more special knowing that everyone had a hand in making his nursery come together.”

Nursery Design Tips

When asked what tips she would share with new moms looking to design their nursery Henry’s mom answered, “the simpler the better! Sticking to neutral or classic tones for the big items like the crib, glider, and walls makes it so much easier to switch up the style as they grow, or pass down to your younger babies as your older ones grow.”

Henry’s nursery is a retreat for this new mama. The neutral, yet intimate atmosphere created by the nursery allows her to slow down and cherish these special moments with her newborn!

When asked if there was anything else she wanted share, Henry’s mom detailed her experience during our in-home newborn session revealing that:

“I realized that it was the first time I really slowed down and savored the moment with my baby in that room. Not only do we have that captured on film, but I will never forget how I felt during our session. So calm, so confident that being Henry’s mom was exactly what I was meant to do. I couldn’t be more thankful that Grace spent time with us that day becoming our friend and making some memories with us. Mamas, it is so exciting to plan your nursery, but I promise you that taking just an hour or so to slow down, put on something pretty and snuggle with your newborn baby to take some photos is so much better. Don’t worry too much about all of the details, because after your little one is here they all fade away.”

What beautiful advice from this amazing mama! Thank you so much for allowing me to capture your precious son and his dreamy little lamb nursery featured in this Monthly Nursery Spotlight!
